Checklist

From our experiences at festivals, we have come to realise just about anything can happen! We've compiled a checklist of 'must haves', 'nice to haves' and 'don't bothers' so you can be prepared!

Must Haves

  • Your Tickets!
Not only for the festival, but if you've booked trains or buses. Plan and book your journey in advance, as public transport will be very busy on the day.

  • Mobile Phone
Remember to switch it off whenever you don't need it to save the batteries.

  • Torch
    Don't forget batteries!

  • Tent, Pillows Sleeping Bag, Roll Mat, Mallet, Blanket. Duct Tape
It's always good to make your tent as distinctive as possible so you can find it later.. The ground will be uncomfortable so don't forget your mat, and even in summer don't underestimate how cold it can get at night so do bring a blanket.

  • Money/Cash Card/ID
But remember to carry them on you at all times, never leave it in the tent! Don't rely on getting money from the festival cash point, you'll be queuing forever. If you're intending on drinking it's vital you remember your ID.

  • Toilet Paper
For obvious reasons, makes sure you always carry a few sheets on you so you don't get caught out.

  • Anti-bacterial hand wash gel
Can be found at your local Boots or Superdrug, it's a hand wash that require no soap or towel! Just rub the gel between your hands clean them, and it dries by itself.

  • Sun Cream, Sunglasses, Sun hat
If the weather is good, you'll be spending long days in the sun so keep yourself well protected.

  • Baby Wipes/Deodorant Wipes
Will keep you feeling fresh, and smelling slightly less! Also very useful if you don't feel like facing the festival showers, however, if you are.

  • Shampoo/Shower gel/Bikini/Trunks
    For the showers

  • Plastic Bags/Bin Liners
For storing any wet or muddy clothes/shoes, and protecting clothes from getting wet, also very good for sitting on if the ground is a bit dodgy.

  • Small side bag
To carry anything you'll need whilst on site - eg phone, snacks, water. Or if you can try and wear clothes that have a lot of pockets. Avoid using rucksacks! If you're in a tight crowd you'll end up hitting people with it every time you move, and it won't be appreciated!

  • Paracetemol/Asprin
Whether you're headache is through lack of sleep, or too much alcohol you'll be glad you brought them

  • Camera
Unless you're mobile has a decent camera on it, which will give you less to carry

  • Toiletries/Towel/Hair Brush/Food/Alcohol/Bottled Water
Don't get these til you arrive, as it will save carrying them along with all your gear. Makes sure all your drink is in cans or plastic bottles as glass bottles are not allowed on site. And don't rely on festival food to carry you through the weekend, it's expensive and not always the best.

  • Clothes
Pack some spares incase of bad weather so you don't end up wearing the same clothes. Don't bring anything you're worried about getting damaged, but do remember to pack for bad weather too!

  • Jumpers
Even in summer it will get cold during the night

  • Comfy Shoes
You're going to be spending a lot of time on your feet, make sure you're wearing shoes that won't make you unable to stand the next day! Bring a spare pair incase you end up loosing one.

  • Wellies
If the weather turns bad you'll be grateful you have them. Don't leave it til it starts to rain and then try and buy wellies on site, they'll sell out in minutes!

  • Waterproofs
A lightweight jacket or kagool that can be rolled up to fit in a small bag or pocket. If you forget it, there's always your bin liner.

Nice To Haves:

  • Ear Plugs
If you intend on getting any sleep at all.

  • P-Mates/Urinelles
There are female urinals, and if you dare use them you'll probably need one of these. Normally they are handed out on site.

  • Tin Opener/Cutlery

  • Gas Stove, Saucepan, Kettle

Forget About:

  • Anything Expensive
Unless you'll be carrying it with you at all times. Eg mobile phone.

  • Your Nicest Clothes/Shoes
    As they'll only get ruined

  • Anything you don't really need!
As you'll only have to carry it around.
