Glastonbury 2007 blog
Jody Whitehill, Campaigns Officer
Friday 22nd June
In typical Glastonbury style the weather is wet, cold and muddy but people’s spirits are high and the place is buzzing. While Glastonbury has been preparing for the first day of music, over the last couple of days the Leftfield has been full of life.
It has been teaming with people thanks to an amazing line up of music, comedy and debates. Sited inside and around the giant big top tent are Trade Unions, Charities and Organisations stands. They are all here to awaken festivalgoers of their causes.
We have an 18ft aluminium airstream caravan which has been gutted and done out
as a recording studio so we can edit Unite video podcasts. These are being
broadcast direct from the festival each day. The awning out the front of the
caravan was providing shelter from the rain for festiv
al goers but today our team of Organisers have been canvassing the public for their worst boss stories out there.
You can see some examples of bullying bosses in today’s podcast including the girl David mentions in his blog. She now works for the Crawley Meat Trader and is currently working on a pork report. We have asked her to come back at the end of the festival and give us a Glastonbury meat review.
Keep checking the website for updates from the Unite Campaigns team. Our video podcasts will be going on the site daily at about 6pm so you can follow the highlights too.
